So I griped about not losing any weight and when I step on the scale this morning I'm down to 197.
I also posted a huge rant on my other blog mostly because I wanted it to get read, but it probably belongs over here, being more rant than substance, and definitely not about the kids. If I still live here when they start school, there won't be any athletic department to worry about. I think the school does have a mascot, the Panther, but with an average student population of 20 kid in K-8, they do well to turn the whole school out for a coed soccer game.
I sub at the school - I break even on a half day, and I actually make about $6 on a whole day. Somebody taught the kids to count incorrectly in Japanese. They have PE first thing in the morning before it gets too hot to be outside, and they do warm ups and exercises. They pick different languages to count in. They do great in Spanish, as that's taught throughout the school, but some of the other languages aren't too stellar. I bet I'm the only one who's noticed that they get five wrong in Japanese. I haven't said anything because I'm not an expert in the language, and maybe there's an obscure dialect that mispronounces it like that. I'm thinking Romajii-ized faux-nihongo used in pseudo martial arts taught by a former local resident. Ok, I'd better stop bashing people. Even though I'm supposed to be able to say whatever I want on this, I don't want to get negative about people I actually respect.
I keep forgetting to take a camera with me to work. I want to take a before picture of me in my uniform so I can show my hips shrinking (hopefully) and my white pocket flags disappearing on my shorts. In a couple of months I'll be wearing the pants, and they are a size larger than my shorts, so it won't be quite the same.
